Chapter 1: An Injured Lion Still Wants to Roar

Randy almost didn't go to Pittsburgh to deliver his last lecture. His wife Jai had wanted him to stay home with her and the kids. What did you learn from his discussions with her about this?

Randy chose "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" as the topic for his lecture. In what ways would this allow him to tell the story of his life, and to enable the dreams of others?

  2. I learned that nothing should get in your way of achieving your dreams. And if you feel in your bones that you need to do something be true to your self and those around you like Randy did in the room with his wife and doctor.

  4. What I learned was that even though times are tough, and you don't have much time you can make the best of any situation. This is so because he flew her out the day after her birthday to see his lecture. He also didn't make the lecture about his students, he made it about him for his children to see who he was. The last lecture in many ways would allow him to tell his life story. The last lecture would let him explain what his childhood was like, like when his parents let him paint on the wall to express his creativity. He can share his childhood dreams and actually show that he accomplished them like when he went to a zero gravity airplane. He wants to show his kids that anything can be possible.

*Your first sentence is a fragment. It should state: Even though he has a limited time left, he still can have fun and spend time with his family and students.
      *You state and twice
      *"and that" is grammatically incorrect

  8. His wife, Jai, is probably very nervous about him going away because he is very sick, and she wants to be with him as much as she can because if he goes away and something happens and he's not with his family that's very sad and would be a huge let down.

"Really achieving your childhood dreams" would allow him to tell the story of his life by explaining the struggles he goes through, however how he achieves them and gets through the day and does what he wants to do. He also enables the dreams of others by making it tangible, something you could definitely achieve if you put your mind to it.

  9. I have learned that his wife knows that he is going to die soon. so she wants him to stay at home with his family. so that he can spend every minute with his family and especially with his kids. also when you only have limited time left that your aware of the kids need his influence the most. but it is good that he presented his speech becuase he was achieving his childhood dreams.

  10. i learned that even when times got rough he still held on even though Jai didn't want him to go to give his last lecture he did it so his kids would know a little more about him.

the way it allows him to tell the story of his life by examples and so his kids will know stuff about him and what kind of person he is and this enables people to not be afraid to dream and think outside the box because everyone is different

  13. She wanted him to stay home with her and their kids to spend time with him. That it was going to be her birthday and it was going to be her last one with Randy.
I learn that you don't have long to do anything you don't know when it might be your last day and that you so spend more time with your family and friends.
That you can go after your dreams and do anything you want to do or to be in your life.
